Hardhat's security guards use Reslink for 3 years

LIVERPOOL, England, November 2010

This month marks the third anniversary of Hardhat Logistics’ security guards starting to use Reslink’s NFC mobile phone solution. During that period the Reslink system has provided Hardhat management with real-time proof that their guards have been patrolling customer sites in accordance with the required service levels.

The phones not only prove attendance at checkpoints, they also enable the guards to clock on/off their shifts, and record information about incidents that have occurred, including photographic evidence. All data is instantly available via the web for management and supervisors to check, and even Hardhat’s customers themselves can see their own data if they so wish.

The system is currently being used 24-7 by 30+ guards at 12 client sites and over the years they have accumulated hundreds of thousands of transactions, all still readily available for viewing should Hardhat, its customers or SIA inspectors require them. Ross Ferguson, MD of Hardhat says “Reslink's standard platform gives us the flexibility to offer our clients a very bespoke information system that goes far beyond anything else on the market. The system has allowed us to phase out paper based log books in favour of electronic reports which can be emailed to the client daily. I would have no problem recommending Reslink’s NFC solution to other security companies.”

Hardhat has also recently implemented the “attendance alerts” module, which constantly monitors checkpoints and immediately sends alerts by SMS and/or email if a guard misses a check within the specified timeframe. This functionality is particularly useful as Ross explains: “Having a full list of every transaction the guards do is great, but what I really need to know is what DID NOT happen, and that’s where the alerts come into play. We can easily set up our own alerts and the system automatically notifies a supervisor by SMS if a guard doesn’t attend a checkpoint. At the same time, it emails me so that in the morning I can see who has not done a check at the correct interval.
